Colmar is a picturesque town with twisting cobblestone streets, scenic canals, pretty buildings, bustling street cafes and lots of flowers. It is located in the Alsace region of northeast France, near the border with Germany. Alsace has changed hands several times between France and Germany over the centuries and the architecture and the food reflect that.
